Captain's Log.

A clam.
Hard to open the shell;
Yet inside hides a pearl.

Connecting to another person on more than an
'I'll-awkwardly-say-hi-to-you-and-then-quickly-slump-away"
level can be tricky.
It's a shame we can't all carry around witty videos of ourselves
in comfortable settings to serve as sort of a 'quicky get to know you' personal business card.
"Hi! Look at me! I'm fun! KaPOW!"
"Okay! Now we're friends! Let's fly kites and eat ice-cream!"

I think it would be interesting to be trapped inside an elevator
forced to share a deeper part of yourself with the people around you.
How exactly would you be perceived?

A friend of mine recently told me about a play
in which the basic premise revolves around 3 central characters who have wound up in hell
resembling a vacant room with no exit.
Each character has committed their own unique sin to arrive at this final destination.
Locked in a room with no hope for any break and an inability to sleep or even blink,
"they cause extreme torture for each other as they continually tempt and deny the character flaws that led them to this final destination."

Is it possible for anyone to connect or are certain personalities predestined to clash and fail?
Give me your business card and let's give this a whirl.

I am observant by nature.
However; I have to constantly remind myself to not automatically jump to conclusions based on what I see.
Instead I should just jump rope.

I'll admit it. At times I can be shy; but by nature I am quirky and loud.
I like to meet new people; but I have a hard time putting myself out there.
Orange colored food products are vile; yet I really love cantaloupe (especially with cottage cheese).

I am a walking contradiction.

.....
!

For the most part, today was a pretty good day.
After drudging through the usual grid of school,
I met up with my friend Dani and ate sushi.
I doodled on a napkin to pass the time;
our waiter actually kept it.

After our feast, we took Rodger
(my sexy Ford Escape)
for a bath.
He looked all shiny and new.

... for about two hours ....

Then the rain hit.

An aside.
Nothing beats a hand-written letter.
It is much more expressive and personal
than most other forms of communication.

Speaking of communication,
I recently created a Skype account.
Most of my friends are moving away
so hopefully this will help fill the void.

Dance.
Dantz.
Antz in yo' pantz.

Tomorrow will be good.
I am hopeful!
Live long and prosper.
Beetchez.
