It's So Cold in Alaska.

"She wants to know why she's given half her life to people she hates now?"

Make new friends but keep the old; one is silver, the other gold.
In my case, I've decided to invest in the 'Cash For Gold' plan.
It soon occurred to me that most of those friendships were cheap anyway.

I would like to believe that people are innately good.
Yet it is strange how easily friendships can fall to the wayside.
I hate running into a person I once valued above all others and not even
feeling comfortable enough to say hi.
It makes me question the point and validity of the so-called "friendship."
Was it all just a waste of time and effort?

I am socially awkward.
I feel like a caterpillar stuck in an early phase of metamorphosis.
Sometimes I envy the butterflies
and try to camouflage myself using a pair of fake wings in attempts to 'fit-in.'
Other times I am content.

I realize that it is important not to become too dependent on others.
However, this can be a lonely road to travel.

. . . On a side note . . .

I like to 'people-watch.'
Humans are very similar to snowflakes.
Each one containing their own unique qualities.
Sometimes I see people I would love to emulate.
Can a snowflake change its features to match that of another's?

Once all the snowflakes melt,
they fuse together to become water.

We are all different and yet also the same.

Let's be friends? I'm down.
